This segment is used to identify an external object by indicating its identification, the format, and its sequence number on the physical medium.
DE 1508: This data element is used to provide the external object's identification.
DE 1516: This data element is used to describe the format of the externalobject. If the object is a computer file the format may be BMP, PCX. If the external object is a video, the format may be SECAM, PAL, etc... If the object is in a physical form such as paper or transparancies, this data element should be filled with "OTHER".
